Operations Manager – Regulatory Compliance

Our client, a Canadian owned & operated provider to customers within the hospital & healthcare community, has retained our services to source a Leader who will be involved with all operations of a small facility including: fill operations & regulatory compliance for their Etobicoke Facility.


The successful candidate will be an experienced hands-on manager who will be involved in every facet of their plant operation and will play a significant role in the success of the Etobicoke facility. Key Responsibilities will include planning, organizing, dispatching staff and ensuring compliance with product safety, transportation, trans-filling, and delivery policies, procedures and regulations and a commitment to safety, continuous improvement and quality.


  • Coordinate fill processes and deliveries in conjunction with daily delivery schedules
  • Manage the order desk and process all new cylinder and supply orders
  • Oversee, maintain and operate cylinder filling equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all documents in accordance to Health Canada guidelines
  • Perform production tag, label, supply and cylinder inventory control
  • Train and mentor staff, in accordance with product Policy and Procedure manual
  • Maintain Company product Policy and Procedure Manuals
  • Perform activities such as attending and contributing to Health Canada regulatory compliance audits, preparation of company standards and notification to management of quality issues
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Maintain lines of communication with relevant decision makers regarding regulatory changes
  • Act as Quality Control Officer for product trans-filling


  • Post-secondary education (technical, business, logistics, operations preferred)
  • 5 years experience in a plant environment (production/distribution/warehouse) and at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in related industries such as – oxygen, pharmaceuticals, food, chemical industry, TDG. Health Canada GMP guidelines an asset
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Proven ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment, safety conscious
  • Solid decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to work within rigid timelines & deliverables
  • Excellent time management, ability to work within a daily schedule and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as team member; ability to multi-task
  • Effective communication skills with staff and customers, strong computer skills
  • Team oriented, flexible nature with demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, in good standing. D level license considered an asset
