Our Client, a manufacturing leader in home hard goods who deliver superior brands to their customers’ homes everywhere, is looking for a Demand Planner to join their Canadian Head Office. You will act as lead in the collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment process to fulfill customer demand by utilizing category management and demand planning techniques to improve execution processes and increase product availability while reducing inventory, transportation and logistics costs.
Responsibilities:
- Set business goals for customer relationships; assign roles, responsibilities and checkpoints.
- Identify events that affect demand in the planning period including promotion, inventory levels, pricing and new product introductions.
- Chair weekly planning and forecasting meetings with Inventory Analysts and Key Account Managers.
- Work with Supply Chain and Sales teams to enroll new customers into their process.
- Review key customer information including sell thru, shipment, and inventory levels to identify business trends.
- Utilize key customer information and incorporate best practice forecasting techniques to predict consumer demand at the point of sale.
- Make forecast recommendations based on current trends, promotions, seasonality, pricing and new product introductions.
- Provide Sales team with allocation recommendations between customers.
- Ensure customer orders are delivered on time and within agreed upon levels.
- Monitor planning and execution activities for exceptions.
- Aggregate results, calculate key performance metrics.
- Calculate sales forecast accuracy by model, sku and customer.
- Share insights and adjust plans for continuously improved results.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in a Demand Planning role with experience in CPFR.
- Background in the retail marketplace: Wal-Mart, Costco, Canadian Tire, Home Depot
- Highly developed Microsoft Excel skills a must
- Well developed analytical skills. Ability to quickly detect patterns or trends in large amounts of data and translate complex analysis into simple communications.
- Ability to present, and make recommendations to senior management.
- Well developed understanding of electronics & appliance markets
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
