SENIOR FACILITIES ENGINEER
Toronto

Our client a world-leading manufacturer of engineering solutions with a global presence has retained our services to scout for a strategic, Senior Facilities Engineer to lead, transform and enhance engineering solutions for their facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring all design services for Plant Engineering projects are met.
  • All provincial/federal codes are adhered to within the maintenance work.
  • Supervise a core group of project coordinators (civil, mechanical & electrical) as well as engineers.
  • Manage a multi-million dollar facilities budget, including a wide range of capital projects.Accountable for managing contractors and acting as the key liaison with consulting engineers.
  • In-depth interfacing with all disciplines within engineering overseeing the planning, design and management of alteration, renovation of existing facilities and new buildings and have expertise in competitive construction tendering.
  • Developing energy management programs onsite, coupled with strong knowledge of existing building regulations, codes/legislation (NFPA, ASHRAE etc) with respect to construction projects.
  • Manage Plant Engineering Schedules, with a focus for on-time, on-cost delivery of projects.
  • Action Cost Savings Activities including leading an energy conservation program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with a PEng with expertise in competitive constructing tendering.
  • Must have prior experience managing & developing programs for a large square footage facility (1 million sq ft facility & above)
  • Senior level Plant /Facilities Engineer with demonstrated negotiation, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experienced at anticipating future needs of the facility and effectively responsible for capital/expense based construction and renovation projects.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who come from top 3 automotive companies (GM, Ford & Chrysler)
