Our client a leader within the CPG industry that represents both national & international branded companies across North America through the retail and foodservice channels is looking at hiring a Maintenance & Engineering Manager to ensure the continuous and safe operation of equipment & facility. This successful organization invests in their employee's growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide continuous and safe operation of equipment with minimum downtime while maintaining compliance with all government regulations.
- Coordinate daily operation of the mechanical, electrical, maintenance and engineering staff which includes, modifications to existing equipment and lines; installation of new equipment or machinery; maintenance of machinery, identify and prioritize cost reduction projects and housekeeping of building and grounds.
- Schedule manpower, job and preventative maintenance on a daily basis.
- Manage and monitor absenteeism and overtime for maintenance staff including training and ensure that skills are maintained both technically and for safety.
- Maintain regular contact with Senior Management, production supervisors, planners and mechanical/electrical lead hands and attend daily production & planning meetings.
- Support capital expenditure planning and execution.
- Purchase and source materials, parts, equipment and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Research new equipment and technologies as required.
- Coordinate and manage capital expenditure projects.
- Increase process reliability and lead downtime review.
- Standardize processes through creation of SOP and Standard Work documents.
- Lead selected CI projects.
- Conduct process analysis and process mapping activities.
- Recommend process changes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) with license in 1 or more of the following trades: electrical, millwright/industrial mech. & CMMS or 7i formal training.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in implementing CMMS or 7i/MP2 System and 5 years solid work experience managing maintenance departments and trades.
- Strong exposure to Lean concepts/principles.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication & planning skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications with an emphasis on Excel.
