MANDATE: This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring a reduction of downtime through the use of sound PM’s. You will introduce continuous improvement strategies through researching new technologies, equipment and processes. You will act as a liaison between the maintenance and production departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as control point for inventory/equipment parts accuracy in the maintenance process.
- Plan, schedule and document preventative/predictive, corrective and shutdown maintenance activities for the plant facility.
- Plan and procure spare parts in a cost effective manner. Ensure CMMS (7i) is up to date: SOP’s, MSDS, Training records.
- Maintain and monitoring of CMMS (7i) program (all modules: Assets, Budget, Equipment, Labour, Purchasing, Scheduling and Work Order).
- Prepare various reports/metrics to show preventative maintenance performance.
- Establish standards of maintenance. Support and implement asset management to improve availability, reliability and productivity (OEE).
- Management of trades, Vendors and Contractors (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Controls Supplies).
- Verification of predictive/preventive maintenance procedures program by CMMS 7i system and review of records (WHMIS/H&S) and management reports.
- Maintain regular contact with production management including Operations Manager, production supervisors, planners and mechanical/electrical lead hands and attend daily production meetings.
- Recommend process changes.
- Apply Lean principles and tools, as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In–depth knowledge of CMMS. (Computerized Maintenance Management System 7i/MP2)
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Team player and ability to foster participative and open communication channels.
- Able to take direction from multiple levels of Senior Management.
- Strong organization and multi–tasking skills.
- Able to work independently or with minimal guidance.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others to action.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with fluency in English.
- Strong sense of initiative.
- Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Some working knowledge in AutoCAD and excellent working knowledge in Electronics, Mechanics, Pneumatics, Hydraulic, Electrical skills.
- Familiarization of Ontario “TRADE” regulations.
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles and tools, an asset.
- Must be willing to work some afternoon and night shifts as required by specific projects.
