MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (P. Eng Mechanical)
West GTA

Our Client is an automotive leader with 20 plants across the globe.  Their approach and reputation in the automotive industry is excellent and they are widely regarded as experts within their segment of the industry.  To further develop their Canadian growth, our client requires a career motivated and passionate Manufacuturing Engineer.  This role will provide a great opportunity for someone who wants to leverage their automotive background in a company that is in high growth mode for both their automotive and industrial business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost effective solutions, processes, engineering support and products in a timely manner, through personal execution of process and product development duties, as well as through coordination, and facilitation of others. 
  • Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures in a Lean 5S environment.
  • Develop & support improvement plans by working with Production to analyze and identify productivity, delivery, quality& material handling improvement opportunities in stamping, tooling, heat treating operations, finishing & vision technology sorting machines as required to support growth; recognizing the position as a technical support service with a strong internal customer focus.  Manage projects with formal plans, employing distinct milestones, metrics, and timeliness while leading cross-functional teams.
  • Initiate, coordinate and execute capital programs per corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development, communication & implementation of major building & property projects.
  • Develop and maintain plant processing data and equipment specifications including preventative and predictive maintenance requirements to achieve OEE targets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years engineering experience in a commercial/automotive parts manufacturing environment.
  • The ideal candidate has acquired 4 years of work experience starting from the time they received their P.Eng designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related program) or equivalency.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the Province of Ontario an asset.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Knowledge and experience with APQP and process FMEA an asset.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / 14001 requirements necessary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, AutoCAD etc.
  • Ability to adapt, multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management and scheduling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement with a high degree of motivation and drive.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities.
