SENIOR MARKETING MANAGER
Mississauga

Our Client is a global powerhouse in the area of consumer goods, and has a tremendous portfolio of products.  It is an entrepreneurial but highly stable and fun culture.  Reporting to the  Vice President and Country Manager you will have the following responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Ensure Group resources are the right to accomplish the corporate and departmental goals
  • Co-ordinates internal activities and interacts with other departments to ensure timely and successful implementation of the activity set.
  • Proactively lead, guide, train, manages the Brand Managers and Marketing associates by facilitating the workload of the portfolio of Brands.
  • Act as a team player, facilitator and key contributor among the portfolio’s Sales Team, external business partners
  • STRATEGIC MARKETING PLANS
  • Recommend, develop and execute marketing programs for the Division interfacing with Sales and Ad agencies to implement those plans.
  • Provide strategic direction to BM’s based on category priorities
  • Understands trade needs and their retail operations to provide specific assistance to driving the category team in meeting their objectives.
  • Leads development and implementation of marketing programs and special projects, involvement in development of advertising and media plans, budgets, packaging, research and maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of consumer promotion programs in accordance with the unit’s business strategy and within the framework of long term brand strategies and plans.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Initiate and follow through on budget management, brand administration, presentations preparation, advertising, research and consumer promotions activities including post promo evaluations
  • Champions and leads full profitability management of the business team to ensure financials goals are achieved or exceed.
  • Direct and manage all facets of marketing including product selection, promotion, all consumer advertising, PR, market research ensuring budgets are accurate, reliable and maintained on timely basis.

MARKET ANALYSIS

  • Analyze available marketing / consumer research info (primary and secondary) and makes recommendations regarding packaging, pricing, consumer promotion, availability, advertising, competition.
  • Visits the Field regularly to ensure a close proximity to consumer, retail customers and Sales Teams.
  • Identifies and selects product opportunities including potential line extensions and major product news activities on yearly basis.
  • Co-ordinates and oversees regular inventory management of product sell-in and sell-through including closeouts, liquidations, CIT in /out (inter company trade) in order to maximize sales and profit potential.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the media planning cycle (planning through to execution) and field sales communication
  • Act as team player, facilitator and key contributor among the Division, Sales, external suppliers (ad agencies, cons promo agencies, market research companies, etc).
  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development, execution and analysis of consumer programs, tactics, and objectives which support brand and trade channel strategies and serve as a platform for the retail promotion plan to meet or exceed planned objectives.
  • Identify and pursues opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the promotion evolution cycle (planning through to execution), field sales communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of experience at a major consumer packaged goods company, fashion or cosmetics industry
  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Business or Marketing , MBA a plus.
  • Keen business sense, issue and profit oriented, resourceful, innovative and responsive to change.
  • Good team worker who will at the same time possess initiative, independence and excellent judgment.
  • Must posses excellent inter-personal, communications and management skills to ensure corporate and department goals are met.
  • Excellent organizer to ensure multifaceted activities are brought together to meet specific deadlines / goals.
  • Solid "can do" attitude.
  • Positive outlook.
  • Computer literate.
